There’s no question that America has the technological know-how to
dramatically reduce our dependence on oil and other fossil fuels. We
can make cars that go 100 miles on a gallon of gas. Wind turbines and
solar panels can supply power to millions of homes and businesses. We
can make high-performance products and buildings that use a fraction of
the energy we use today.
And with war raging in the Middle East, oil and gas prices surging, and
global warming threatening our future, we cannot wait. We need to start
now. That’s why we’re asking citizens to join us in calling on Congress
to endorse a strong, no-nonsense plan to move our country
toward a bold, new energy future.
How to change our course on energy:
In order to put our country on the right track for a clean energy future we need to reduce our energy consumption by 10 percent nationally and get 25 percent of our electricity from clean, renewable sources. More.

That’s why we are calling Congress to require that utilities generate at least 20 percent of America’s electricity from renewable energy sources like wind and solar by 2020 and to extend tax incentives that help homes and businesses make the switch to renewable energy.
